Work begins on largest casino cruise ship

KUALA LUMPUR: Work on the world's largest casino cruise ship, called the Crusino, which will be launched here on April 3 is expected to take three years to complete.
Measuring 295m in length and 36m in width, the ship will be able to carry up to 3,200 passengers and 900 crew members and consists of 1,330 staterooms.
"The construction cost is estimated about USD560 million (RM2.5 billion) and will be either carried out at shipyards in China or Vietnam.
"The project is undertaken by Podiumspot Capital Group, which is a company incorporated in Malaysia. Podiumspot are the owners of Crusino Cruise Services Ltd," said T. Leonard, the CEO of Podiumspot.
Crusino is scheduled to embark on its maident voyage by April 2020.
The distinguishing feature of Crusino is its two special decks for gaming purposes, including the largest casino on sea, allowing occupants to enjoy a wide range of gaming activities including slot games, table games, live games and sports betting.
Each stateroom, in swanky interiors, will come equipped with two plasma television sets. One is for regular movie and entertainment purposes while the other is special-purpose for occupants to participate in live casino games from the comfort of their rooms.
"A host of other facilities will also be available on Crusino and includes a swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurants, cafés, bars, shopping outlets, a theatre, a library, a spa, sauna and a fitness centre," he added.
