Factories razed in fire

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Two factories were razed while another two damaged in a fire at a light industrial park here which left a Bangladesh worker with scalded hands.
A Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a team of 36 firemen and two fire engines from Perai and Bandar Perda stations arrived at the factories in Lorong IKS Juru 7, Taman Perusahaan Ringan Juru at 11.42am.
"The victim was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital," he said.
The spokesperson said the cause of the fire and total cost of damage were still under investigation.
