QSR Brands names new CEO

PETALING JAYA: QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd, operator of the KFC and Pizza Hut fast food restaurant chains in Southeast Asia, yesterday announced the promotion of its previous COO Merrill Pereyra (pix) to CEO, beginning Jan 1, 2017.
The group said in a statement that Pereyra’s promotion follows the departure of Rohan St George who helmed QSR Brands from 2013 to 2016.
“His current CEO role includes leadership of KFC and Pizza Hut in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Cambodia,” it said.
Meanwhile, the company also strengthened its executive leadership team with two key additions to its Pizza Hut team, Eric Leong as general manager and Jean Ler as chief marketing officer.
Both Leong and Ler will be key to Pizza Hut’s goal to continue to serve the best pizzas in the country to strengthen its position as the leading pizza chain in Malaysia, it noted.
