Remand order on sec-gen extended by 4 days (Updated)

PUTRAJAYA: A federal ministry secretary-general who was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) last week for alleged corruption and abuse of power had his week-long remand order extended by another four days today.
Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman also issued a four-day remand order extension on the 59-year-old Datuk's 34-year-old son who was arrested with him and another son aged 29 on Jan 4.
The younger son was freed on on a RM10,000 bail.
All three men arrived at the courthouse here at 10am.
The secretary-general was held last Wednesday at his Subang Jaya house by an MACC raiding party that scoured his place for 12 hours before recovering gold bars, cash, luxury handbags and watches.
Subsequently, both his sons were detained.
Over RM5 million worth of valuables and cash have been seized from the man to date while 10 plots of land in the Klang Valley owned by the suspect's family members are yet to be evaluated.
