PETALING JAYA: Police on Wednesday arrested 15 suspects in a follow-up investigation into the killing of five Myanmar nationals at Serdang Industrial Park last week.
Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat told theSun that the suspects aged between 19 and 50 were picked up in an undisclosed location here at 2pm by the Selangor CID team.
"The suspects consist of Myanmar nationals, locals and east Malaysians.
"They have been remanded for six days to assist in the investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said.
In the incident at 10pm on Jan 5, the five men, together with 11 other friends, were on their way back home after work at a factory nearby.
While walking along a desolate road, the factory workers were startled by two cars which were fast approaching them with the attackers on board.
According to witness reports, the suspects got out of the cars and attacked the victims, killing four of them, aged 20 to 25, instantly while another victim was rushed to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries the following day.
Police said the motive behind the killings is believed to be infighting among Myanmar nationals living in the country.
