THE wildly-popular Laugh Die You comedy series returns to tickle audiences once again with a brand-new show at the Genting International Showroom on Feb 11.
Previous shows have featured regional comedy heavy hitters such as Gurmit Singh, Joanne Kam and Kumar.
This time, the jokes will be brought by top comedians Kuah Jenhan, Mark Lee and Jonathan Atherton.
At a recent press conference, both Kuah and Lee teased that their performance would feature a variety of jokes underpinned by the classic bickering between Malaysians and Singaporeans.
The two-and-a-half-hour show is expected to bring the house down, as the talented comedians take light-hearted jabs at each other’s nation, allowing everyone to laugh at the similarities and differences that make us such unique neighbours.
Representing Malaysia is Kuah, a well-known personality who has performed sold-out shows around the region, including a month-long showcase at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2015.
He was also nominated for the Perth Fringe World Comedy Award for his role in Like This Like Dad.
Singapore native Lee is no stranger to Malaysian audiences, having starred in hit comedies Money No Enough and Liang Po Po.
He also directed the 2011 film, The Ghosts Must Be Crazy, and was awarded the coveted All Time Favourite Artiste award in the Star Awards 2010.
This will be his second Laugh Die You show, after also headlining another show last year.
Also hailing from Singapore is New Zealand-born Atherton, who helms Comedy Club Asia.
He is no newcomer in the entertainment industry, having performed extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand and also in cities like London, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
Resorts World Genting assistant vice president of Promotions & Entertainment Roger Ong said: “We are pleased to host top comedians in Asia at the Genting International Showroom and trust Laugh Die You to be an exhilarating comedy show that will provide audience a good laugh and add a smile to their face.
“We are optimistic that scores of stand-up comedy enthusiasts are gearing up to watch the trio in action. We have something for everyone here and have hosted countless shows and concerts.”
The show will also feature a musical performance by Kuala Lumpur budding singer-songwriter Michael Leaner, who has performed with the likes of Amber Chia, Jaclyn Victor, Ning Baizura, Shila Amzah and Vince Chong.
