Three killled in accident at Kulai

KULAI: Three people were killed while another escaped with injuries when the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree at Jalan Air Hitam to Johor Baru, near Technology Park here on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Chin Han Xue (male), 21, from Senai, Foo Zi Wei (female), 18, from Kulai and Mary Jantum, 23, from Sarawak.
The bodies were sent to Temenggung Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim hospital here for post-mortem.
The driver, Chin Han Rong (male), 19, who was injured was treated at the same hospital.

Johor Baru Utara district police chief ACP Mohd Taib Ahmad when contacted said, the victims were heading towards Johor Baru when the vehicle went out of control and rammed into a tree.
The three victims who were trapped inside the wrecked vehicle car Km19 of Jalan Air Hitam died on the spot while firemen had to rescue the driver who was also pinned to his seat.

Kulai Fire and Rescue department spokesman Mohamed Nasib Mohamad Sam said they received a distressed call at about 8.23pm and immediately a team of firemen rushed to the scene and took about an hour to extricate all the victims from the almost totally wrecked car.

Police said the case will be investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless and dangerous driving which carries imprisonment from two to 10 years, and fine from RM5,000 to RM20,000 upon conviction.
