PEKAN: "It's like a dream comes true," said Dusun Pinang UMNO branch head Ghazali Omar when describing the visit by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on his home in Kampung Pahang Tua, near here today.
Ghazali, 59, a stage four cancer patient, said he had dreamed that Najib would visit him while being admitted to the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Kuantan at the end of Dec last year to seek treatment.
"When I woke up from sleep then, I had asked my wife whether it was true that the Prime Minister had come to visit me."
"But my wife told me that it was not true, it was just my dream," he told Bernama after Najib had called on him at his house.
Najib, who had come at 10.20 am together with Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, spent about 15 minutes chatting with Ghazali.
Najib, who is the Member of Parliament for Pekan, also gave his personal contribution to Ghazali, who had been Dusun Pinang UMNO branch head since the year 2000.
Ghazali said when he came to know that the Prime Minister intended to visit him on Jan 9, he was shocked to the extent that he had shed tears.
"I was deeply touched and moved that the Prime Minister was willing to spend time t visit me today. I expressed my deep gratitude to him," he said in tears while his wife, Rosida Kasim, 51, sat beside him. — Bernama
