Najib has closed-door meeting with Kedah Umno leaders

ALOR SETAR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today held a closed-door meeting with Kedah Umno leaders at the TH Hotel and Convention Centre, here this afternoon.
The meeting, which began at 4.15pm and expected to end about two hours later, was attended by Kedah Menteri Besar who is also Kedah Umno chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.
Also present were Kedah Umno deputy chairman who is also the Education Minister, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, State Assemblymen and Umno division heads.
However, no statement had been issued on the meeting so far.
Earlier, the Prime Minister and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport at about 3.45pm for his two-day visit to the state until tomorrow.
Tonight, Najib and his wife are scheduled to attend the State Banquet at Istana Anak Bukit, here at 8.30pm.
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister and his wife will begin the visit by having breakfast with the local community at Medan Selera Alor Merah, here at about 8.30am.
The Prime Minister and his wife will subsequently proceed to Bandar Puteri Jaya, Sungai Petani to fete the Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA) community, the first such project in Kedah, at 10am.
Concluding the visit, Najib and his wife will then proceed to the Kuala Ketil public field to attend a programme with the people there at 2.30pm.
Najib and his wife will subsequently head for the federal capital after the event. — Bernama
