PETALING JAYA: Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) has denied speculation concerning privatisation of the group.
In a filing with the stock exchange, the loss-making plantation giant said there has been no discussion on the matter at its board level, after making due enquiries with its major shareholder, the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda).
FGV noted that it has also not received any proposal from the other shareholders on the same matter. “If there is any development or material information on this matter, we will make the necessary announcement,” FGV said.
It was reported earlier that Felda’s new chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad had mentioned the possibility of FGV being delisted.
FGV shares fell one to close at RM1.75 on some 4.28 million shares done yesterday.
