Upset son burns himself after mother refuses to bequeath palm oil estate to him

    PETALING JAYA: A 60-year-old man is believed to have immolated himself to death after his mother did not will him the family's palm oil estate in Batu Pahat, Johor, reported Utusan Malaysia today.
    The charred remains of Ting Ching King was discovered by the public in his burnt car at the family's oil palm estate located 5km away from Jalan Ayer Hitam-Yong Peng at 4.20pm, Monday.
    Batu Pahat district police chief Asst Comm Abdul Wahib Musa said the victim was found lying on the driver's seat while the car was found locked with the hand brake lifted.
    "The victim was believed to be upset with his mother as the ownership of the palm oil estate was not transferred to his name, and he resorted to burning himself," he was quoted as saying by the daily today.
    He added that the case has been classified as sudden death.
