25 detained in connection with killing of five Myanmar nationals in Serdang

SERDANG: Twenty-five individuals were arrested by police to help with the investigation into the killing of five Myanmar nationals at the Sri Serdang Industrial Area here earlier this month.
Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said those arrested were Myanmar nationals and locals who worked at the industrial area and aged between 20 and 50 years.
"The case is still under investigation and we believe it can be solved in the near future. So far no weapon is seized and the motive is yet to be determined," he told reporters after witnessing the disposal of seized gambling machines at Serdang district police headquarters, here, today.
He said two injured in the incident were in stable condition.
On Jan 6, five Myanmar nationals were killed while two others were seriously injured in a fight involving machetes in the industrial area.
Earlier, Selangor police disposed a total of 1,312 computer units modified as gambling machines worth RM140,000 that were seized last year. — Bernama
