TAIPING: Residents in Kampung Baru, Kamunting have had enough of the antics of wild monkeys in the area and want the Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) to assist to get rid of the problem.
The residents complained that they have had to put with the problem for about a year now and it was only getting worse as they (monkeys) now brazenly entered their homes and caused havoc.
Their spokesman, Mohd Sofian abdul Rahman, 30, told Bernama that they came in groups of seven to 10 and the numbers were on the increase.
"We fear if this situation is allowed to continue, the safety of the residents especially children will be at risk.
"I have brought the matter up to the relevant authorities but till now it has yet to be resolved," he said. — Bernama
