ARAU: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, is concerned with lies about Islam and has urged Muslims to unite to curb this unhealthy situation.
He said the lies were more worrying, as the enemies of Islam were trying to mislead Muslims by mixing authentic knowledge with those which are unauthentic, so much so it would be difficult to determine what is true.
"False claims by detractors have tarnished the purity and beauty of Islamic law, and it has gone out of control," he said when opening the Sunnah Centre at Masjid Lama here, today.
The mosque which had been abandoned for more than 10 years, was renovated by the State Mufti Department and Perlis Islamic Religious Council (MAIPs) to beocme the Sunnah Centre.
The Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil was also present at the event.
Syed Faizuddin said the responsibility to combat fraud in the name of Islam should be based on true knowledge, and the opening of the Sunnah Centre was part of the efforts.
The Perlis Mufti, Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, who was met later said the Sunnah Centre would open next month for the first batch of 30 students, including those from outside Perlis. — Bernama
