GEORGE TOWN: DAP will be the backbone of the opposition coalition if they win in the next general election, said Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
He said there is no way Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) or even Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) can lead the front as they have a different view on many things.
"Just close your eyes and imagine what if DAP has the power, what are the implications?
"Do you all think that you can live under their rules?" he said in his speech at Padang Awam Kuala Ketil today.
He said the opposition is in shamble and singled out PPBM which was launched officially last Saturday as a party that will not last long
He said any political party that was formed based on revenge and personal agenda will never succeed in this country.
"History has shown that a weak party with a strong leader will not last long, but a party that is based on the fight of a race, religion and country will prevail," he said.
Najib was speaking to a 23,000-strong crowd in an event called "An evening with the PM" organised by Baling Umno division.
