MANAGEMENT & Science University student Muhammad Aizat Shahar has beaten 16 other undergraduates vying for the Best Accounting Student Award 2016 from the Malaysian Institute of Accounting (MIA).
The prestigious award entitles him to pursue a professional programme of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a leading organisation promoting the development of accountancy and finance professionals and supporting thousands of chartered accountants worldwide. Muhammad Aizat also received a cash prize of RM500.
The aspiring accountant sees the award as a good start to realising his dream of becoming an auditor. He wants to gather as much experience as he can from the industry in the three years of work he has planned to undertake before completing his ICAEW papers and qualify as a Chartered Accountant.
Currently in his final part of internship at a member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, Muhammad Aizat believes he has made all the right choices for his career progression.
