Contractor robbed of RM80,000

SUBANG JAYA: An electric contractor lost RM80,000 to four robbers in Bandar Sunway here today.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohammad Azlin Sadari said in the 12.15pm incident, the 39-year-old victim was approached by three suspects, believed to be Indonesians who were wearing caps and cloths wrapped around their face.
"The victim initially settled his errand at a bank in Kelana Jaya 30 minutes before the incident.
"Once he reached his office at Bandar Sunway, the three suspects approached him and tried to grab his bag containing RM80,000 cash, believed to be the salaries of his employees," Azlin said in a statement today.
He said the suspects are believed to have tailed the victim from the bank and approached him with machetes.
A scuffle ensued between the robbers and the victim and they injured the victim before escaping from the scene.
"The victim was slashed on his fingers," added Azlin.
The suspects grabbed the bag and ran to a luxury car where their accomplice was waiting," he said, adding that police were investigating the case under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing robbery.
