GEORGE TOWN: Traders and residents around Komtar remain unperturbed by a viral video purportedly of two UFOs hovering around the tallest building in Penang.
Textile trader, Ong Hin Hock, 52, said he was doubtful if aliens were visiting and believed the objects were drones.
"I only found out when I was browsing Facebook last night (Tuesday)," he said when met at his shop.
Coffee shop owner Tan Hick Sin said he knew nothing until his friend told him about the matter.
"Those could have been airplanes and not UFOs," he said.
Drink seller Muhd Asri Muhd Hassan, 53, laughed off the idea the objects were UFOs.
"Those could be drones used for photography," he added.
Lilis Hassan, 35, however believed UFOs were real but was sceptical of such sightings taking place in Penang.
"People are too excited to share such postings," she said.
The sightings came to light after Facebook user Wong Soon You posted a video on Tuesday showing two white objects flying near the building.
The video has since been viewed and share thousands of times and has attracted a gamut of comments.
No police reports have been lodged over the sightings according to Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Farialatrash Wahid when contacted.
