SUBANG JAYA: To find out more about behind the scenes of a cinema, 33 children from Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR), USJ went on a tour to the Premium X Cinema, One City recently.
Accompanied by nine volunteers from Great Vision Charity Association (GVCA), these children have scant opportunity to understand how a backend of a cinema looks like. Upon arrival at the cinema, the children were greeted warmly by the person in charge before they started their guided tour in the cinema.
The children were exposed to the cinema's operation flow – from learning how does ticketing system works, making popcorn, and visited the projector control room. As they toured the cinema, they learnt about the different job roles in a cinema in which each department plays an important role in ensuring a smooth operation.
It was a unique experience for these children to also learn a movie technician’s role in the projector control room. They were fascinated to see the huge projector that project the movie and enjoyed looking down at the screening hall where the audiences are seated.
After the cinema tour, volunteers from GVCA and the children had a joyful time watching the movie, Moana together.
Great Vision Charity representative, Ms Chor Mun Yan said, "We believe in providing real life exposure on a working sector could open the children’s mind."
"Thank you Premium X Cinema for the educational tour opportunity as well as sponsoring the popcorn and drinks for the children," said Ms Chor.
During lunch, the children were entertained by a volunteer, Ross Stephenson with his magic and balloon tricks. They had a pleasant day and left home a big smile on their faces.
