KAJANG: Four women who were detained in connection with the alleged abuse at a nursery in Bangi, Selangor, have been remanded for two days, until tomorrow.
This was confirmed by Kajang district police chief ACP Othman Nanyan.
The alleged abuse surfaced after a picture, showing children whose feet, hands and mouths appear to be bound up, had gone viral on social media.
Among those picked up was a 46-year-old nursery manager at Bandar Baru Bangi on Friday.
Police recorded statements from several people and sent the children to a hospital for a check-up after receiving a report on the matter on Thursday.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim on Friday said that the ministry had sent an officer to investigate the matter.
The case is being probed under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
