Bukit Tinggi will be among Pahang's eco-tourism destinations
BENTONG: Bukit Tinggi will be turned into one of the major eco-tourism destinations in Pahang in the future, says Bentong MP Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
Towards this end, he said an agriculture produce gathering centre would be built in Kampung Bukit Tinggi here aimed at diversifying eco-tourism products.
"We will also build a monument for a renowned agricultural product in the district, namely, Bentong Ginger," he told Bernama here yesterday, after a gathering with the Chinese Community in Kampung Bukit Tinggi in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.
However, Liow, who is also MCA president and transport minister, said the costs involved and completion dates for the two projects could not be revealed as they were still in the working paper stage.
Liow was also optimistic Bentong could become a satellite town one day, providing a comfortable area to reside in, including for those working in Kuala Lumpur.
In the meantime, he said measures would be taken to protect the natural environment in Bentong with every development implemented. — Bernama
