Number of flood victims in Kelantan declined to 11,654

KOTA BARU: The number of flood victims in Kelantan has declined to 11,654 from 3,300 families as at 1pm today compared to 11,748 people involving 3,255 families as at 8am.

Based on the Social Welfare Department's infobanjir application, the flood victims were currently housed at 66 relief centres in eight districts in Kelantan.

Out of the total, 5,194 from 1,433 families are housed in 24 relief centres in Kota Baru while 10 relief centres in Pasir Puteh housed 2,512 people from 680 families.

In Pasir Mas, 22 relief centres accomodate 2,027 victims from 642 families while in Tumpat 1,171 people from 340 families were evacuated to three relief centres.

Bachok recorded 522 victims from 141 families being housed in one relief centre while in Machang 129 people from 37 families are housed at two relief centres.

Meanwhile in Tanah Merah, 55 victims from 16 families are placed in two relief centres while in Kuala Krai, 44 people from 11 families are in two relief centres.

According to the ebanjir.kelantan.gov.my portal, the water level at Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang dropped to 10.06m at noon today from 10.11m at 8am. The danger level at the river is at 9.0 metres. — Bernama
