Fama distributes 1,506 food kits to flood victims in Kelantan

    PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (Fama) has distributed 1,506 food kits to victims of the second wave of floods in Kelantan.
    Its director-general, Datuk Ahmad Ishak said the food kits were distributed on Friday and Saturday (yesterday) to add to those distributed during the first wave of floods.
    "The food kits comprise of Fama products under the Agromas brand name such as biscuit, sugar, rice porridge, oat drink, 3-in-1 drink, sardine, kaya and bilis spread, plastic cup and spoon," he said in a statement today.
    The initiative under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) is conducted by the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) with the cooperation of Fama and the Social Welfare Department.
    Ahmad said about 5,300 food kits have been distributed in Terengganu while 8,487 food kits sets have been distributed in Kelantan.
    The distribution of food kita is one of the standard operating procedures (SOP) under the Kemaman Flood Management Plan. — Bernama
