KIEHL’S chemists recently merged the best of both worlds to introduce the Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream.
It is based on a 99.6% naturally-derived formula, and the first of its kind to leverage the combined efficacy of two world-renowned wellness ingredients: New Zealand Manuka Honey and Korean Red Ginseng Root.
This breakthrough moisturiser helps skin resist hydration loss as well as aid in existing skin damage recovery, while cocooning the skin in a comforting and nourishing texture. It is formulated with the goal of helping skin work optimally to remain healthy.
A healthy looking skin is characterised by radiance and vibrancy, smooth, supple texture and can be defined by a capacity to resist and recover from damage. However, over time, skin naturally becomes less able to resist and recover and youthful vitality is diminished.
“As we age, beginning in our 20’s, our skin starts to function less optimally. The skin barrier can become weakened, less resistant and skin renewal slows,” shared Dr Geoff Genesky, Kiehl’s Head of Chemist.
“Our focus for this formula wasn’t tackling the typical anti-aging attributes. It was the global look and feel of the skin, a more macro approach that offers our customers the opportunity to have their skin look its healthiest and most vital.”
Hence, the brand’s chemists focused on ingredients that had a known ability to increase skin’s resistance and recovery, leading to the sourcing of two of the world’s most powerful traditional medicine ingredients. After that, it took a lot more tries before they got it right.
“To build a cream structure, we typically formulate with emulsifiers, thickeners, emollients and powders. But for Pure Vitality, we made the decision to use only natural, plant-derived versions of these ingredients. After 68 trials – the most in Kiehl’s history – we achieved the perfect balance of each ingredient in a formula that is also aesthetically appealing, indulgent and elegant,” explained Genesky.
A clinical test revealed that this moisturiser improves skin’s radiance and glow by 41.8%, while improving skin’s texture and smoothness by 39.7%.
Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream (50ml) retails at RM254 and is now available in stores.
