A graduate study is one of the educational pathways for those who want to improve one’s career prospects or job satisfaction, for an intellectual challenge, or to pursue a long-standing interest. Management & Science University (MSU) has placed flexibility in its study environment so that you can study in such a way that works best for you.

MSU’s School of Graduate Studies (SGS) offers advanced degrees at MSc and PhD levels covering the wide areas of Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Food Service Technology, Biomedicine, Engineering, Applied Science, Biomedical Sciences, Information Technology, Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy.

The PhD education focuses on training in original and independent scholarship, while the master’s degree programmes either in full research mode or in coursework mode prepare graduate students for careers in public or private sectors and professional practice.

The graduate programmes of study at MSU emphasise a number of distinctive and desirable features – including high level engagements between local as well as international faculty and graduates. All of the programmes offered are supported and complemented by a wide range of interdisciplinary units, which result in the promotion of intellectual activities and research across the university.

The SGS provides support to graduates throughout their learning experience at the MSU, as well as provides a creative and innovative teaching and delivery method, a global leadership programme and social facilities. Working with all faculties and non-academic departments, including industry and other institutions to enhance the graduates’ experience, SGS is committed to delivering a quality service exclusive to its growing postgraduate community.

The PhD and Master programmes are research-based and the degrees will be awarded by MSU on the successful completion of a thesis. Examinations are by assessment of the thesis and the research. A viva voce is required for the PhD programme. The taught master’s degree is assessed by assignments and written examination.

As Malaysia’s best teaching and learning university, MSU gives priority to quality education and the importance of creative teaching methodologies towards producing quality and holistic graduates. Besides adding international exposure in the students’ learning experience, extensive industrial training components and personal enrichment competency elements are also incorporated into the programme of study to ensure the graduates’ employability.

The programmes offered by the university meet the stringent standards set by the local and international bodies. MSU’s award-winning homegrown programmes are among the best in the region as they are meticulously crafted to enhance the graduates’ potential.
