The PhD education focuses on training in original and independent scholarship, while the master’s degree programmes either in full research mode or in coursework mode prepare graduate students for careers in public or private sectors and professional practice.
The graduate programmes of study at MSU emphasise a number of distinctive and desirable features – including high level engagements between local as well as international faculty and graduates. The SGS provides support to graduates throughout their learning experience at the MSU, as well as provides a creative and innovative teaching and delivery method, a global leadership programme and social facilities. Working with all faculties and non-academic departments, including industry and other institutions to enhance the graduates’ experience, SGS is committed to delivering a quality service exclusive to its growing postgraduate community.
The PhD and Master programmes are research-based and the degrees will be awarded by MSU on the successful completion of a thesis. Examinations are by assessment of the thesis and the research. A viva voce is required for the PhD programme. The taught master’s degree is assessed by assignments and written examination.
