WITH the many festive goings-on at various malls and shopping centres around the city launching their Chinese New Year campaigns, promotions and activities, eCurve decided to treat some senior citizens to some fun and laughter.
LUNAR LAUGHTER
Amid the mall’s charming pastel-coloured Chinese New Year decorations were 20 elderly folk from Rumah Victory Elderly Home along with their three caretakers who were seen “crying” tears of laughter at the shenanigans of the sassy and witty Datin Ong.
Datin Ong is the “alter ego” of multi-talented TV and radio host KK Wong. During the festive showcase, Datin Ong was featured accompanied by her troupe of dancers, entertaining the senior guests with jokes and hilarious commentary on fashion, food and such.
FUN AND ACTION
The evening of fun and laughter continued with an exhilarating acrobatic lion dance performance by the award-winning Kwong Ngai Lion Dance troupe who brought their mischievous bright pink lions to entertain onlookers.
Towards the end of the festive treat, eCurve centre manager Azizul Hisham Ahmad handed out Chinese New Year goodie bags and ang pows to the folks and caretakers. This was followed by the tossing of yee sang for prosperity and a sumptuous dinner at Pak John Steamboat and BBQ.
ENTERTAINMENT AND MORE
Catch the entertaining “Datin Ong Live! Musical Show” every weekend and on public holidays from now until Jan 30. Look out for the God of Prosperity during his walkabout while at eCurve and don’t forget to catch the acrobatic lion dance performance too.
