The case of flying tyres

PETALING JAYA: It was a heart stopping moment for a driver in Sibu when the tyres off a 10-tonne lorry came flying towards him.
The 10-tonne lorry was travelling in the opposite direction when its the axle with dual tyres flew off and slammed into the man's front windshield, according to New Straits Times.
However, the car driver only suffered minor injuries in the incident that happened yesterday.
But the Vios he was driving was badly damaged with the windshield shattered.
It was also understood that the lorry driver escaped without any injury.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department acting deputy chief Assistant Superintendent Mathew Manggie said police was aware of the case.
"We are waiting for the lorry drive to lodge a report before giving out details on what had happened," he was quoted as saying.
