Flood evacuees in Perak up to 576 by noon, figures in NS and Sabah remain same

IPOH: The number of flood evacuees in Perak increased to 576 from 181 families as at noon today from 569 (176 families) this morning.
According to the Social Welfare Department's infobanjir application, relief centres were opened in the Kinta; Larut, Matang and Selama; Manjung and Hilir Perak districts.
Manjung has the most number of evacuees at 383, with 180 housed at Dewan Inderawati, Beruas, and 203 at Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai.
In the Larut, Matang and Selama district, the number of evacuees remained at 65 and they are at two relief centres including the Matang Merbau, Sungai Tinggi community hall.
In the Kinta district, 21 evacuees are at the Tanjung Tualang multipurpose hall and another 76 at the Tanjung Tualang Sikh Settlement hall.
In Hilir Perak, 31 evacuees are at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Ara.
Meanwhile, two flood relief centres in Perak Tengah, namely at the Kampung Talang Belanja Kiri surau in Parit and Nurul Jannah surau in Parit 6 were closed this morning.
In Negeri Sembilan, the number of flood evacuees remained at 157 (43 families) including 25 children and four babies as at 1pm. They are from Taman Sungai Gemas and are now sheltered at the Gemas Main Hall, Tampin.
In Sabah, the number of evacuees at the three relief centres in Pitas district and Paitan sub-district remained at 228 (86 families) as at 1pm.
State Disaster Management Committee secretariat chief, Col Mulliadi Al-Hamdi Ladin said 61 victims (28 families) were housed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan 2 and 122 (48 families) at the Kampung Indah community hall in Pitas.
In Paitan, 45 victims (10 families) were still at the Kampung Binsulung hall as at noon. — Bernama
