PETALING JAYA: PAS has challenged DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang to proceed with legal action against party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang , after the latter had claimed Lim was anti-Islam, reported Utusan Malaysia.
In the report, PAS Dewan Ulama information chief Datuk Dr. Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said Lim would be a coward if he did not proceed with legal action.
"PAS welcomes Lim to sue Hadi, he is a coward if he does not do it, please do it before the upcoming general election," Khairuddin was quoted as saying in the report.
Last week, Lim had extended an 'olive branch' to Abdul Hadi to work together again to save Malaysia.
However, Abdul Hadi has rejected Lim's overture as he had failed to support PAS's Islamic cause.
Khairuddin added Lim should prove that he is not anti-Islam by extending support to PAS's effort in championing the religion, especially through Hadi's Bill to amend syariah laws.
Meanwhile, Utusan reports that PAS information chief Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi has claimed that he had evidence to show that DAP leaders were not in favour of Islamic laws.
"If DAP sues the PAS president, then hundreds of thousands or millions of Muslims and non-Muslims who respect Islam will rise to be 'defence lawyers' for the leader of an Islamic movement," Nasruddin was reported as saying in the report.
