Three die in car collision on SKVE

BANTING: Three people were killed, while one was seriously injured, in a collision between a four-wheel-drive and a sedan at the South Klang Valley Expressway here today.
In the 7.45am incident at KM38.6, a four-wheel drive and a sedan collided while travelling from Telok Panglima Garang towards Pulau Indah, Klang.
Banting district police chief ACP Zailan Tasir said the deceased have been identified as Ang Chee Peng 33, P. Maniveloo 47, and S. Malathi, 42.
"We believe the four-wheel-drive, occupied by a local and a Thai national was speeding,when the driver suddenly lost control and swerved into the opposite lane.
"The four-wheel-drive then crashed into an oncoming sedan, killing a couple which was on board," he told theSun when contacted.
He said the couple died at the scene while the driver of the four-wheel-drive died upon reaching the Banting hospital.
Zailan added that the post-mortem will be conducted at Banting Hospital and the injured victim has been admitted at the Klang General Hospital for further treatment.
"The family of the deceased and the injured victim have been informed," he said.
Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said they received a call on the incident at 7.45am, and despatched seven firemen from the Banting fire station.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
