Carlsberg picks up the tab for 293 shoppers

A total of 293 lucky shoppers snagged a golden opportunity to experience probably the best Chinese New Year shopping experience ever, by having their grocery shopping bill paid for by Carlsberg.
Over 2,000 shoppers who ­purchased a minimum of RM200 worth of Carlsberg Malaysia’s ­products at eight selected Aeon and Aeon Big outlets on selected dates in January tried their luck by ­participating in the ‘Weather Vane Digital Spin’ contest.
Lucky winners scored the chance to have their groceries paid for by Carlsberg, while others still managed to walk home with other prizes.
This was part of Carlsberg’s campaign to add some excitement to the otherwise typical mundane task of grocery shopping, thus bringing to life the essence of Carlsberg’s brand ­promise.
One winner, 47-year-old Chuah Kee Heng, walked home with RM500 worth of free groceries from Aeon Bukit Tinggi.
He said: “Shopping for ­groceries, especially during the festive period isn’t always the most exciting thing to do … Carlsberg has added a little spice to my ­shopping this festive season!”
Another lucky winner, 60-year-old Chee Nget Yin, whizzed around Aeon Cheras Selatan for an hour, piling her cart with over RM700 worth of groceries.
The loyal Carlsberg drinker of over 30 years exclaimed:“It’s only natural for me to stock up on more Carlsberg and ­Somersby Cider over the festive season! It was a brilliant prize that my friends and family can enjoy this Chinese New Year with our ­favourite seafood dishes.
“This year, we’ll be enjoying our meals with Carlsberg Smooth Draught.”

Danny Ho, 34, decided to try his luck at Aeon Big Subang Jaya after seeing the contest advertised in the newspapers.
“I am grateful and jubilant to have won this prize!” he said.
“I have been purchasing Somersby Apple Cider regularly for the past three years, and with this campaign, it made my purchases even more worthwhile. Now, I can share the ­Somersby Cider and Asahi with my guests and family!”
Carlsberg is also running ­promotions from now to Feb 28 across participating ­restaurants, coffeeshops and food-courts.
Beer lovers who purchase three big bottles of Carlsberg or Carlsberg Smooth Draught will receive a deck of playing cards as well as stand a chance to win attractive bonus prizes such as a Samsung home theatre system, an Ogawa handheld massager, and more.
