Hot Air Balloon fiesta takes off without a hitch

GEORGE TOWN: Traffic during the two-day Hot Air Balloon fiesta at Padang Polo in Jalan Utama here was smooth without any hitch, according to its organiser AKA Balloon.
Its chief executive officer Nur Izzati Khairudin gave a thumbs-up for the traffic as cars were properly parked at specified parking spaces.
She said they did not encounter any traffic congestion compared to the two previous years.
"It was organised well and traffic was even better than normal days," she told theSun.
Nur Izzati added that personnel from police and Penang Island City Council (MBPP) worked hard to ensure smooth traffic flow.
She, nonetheless, said this year's event was the best as the event was well received by locals and tourists.
"We recorded about 60,000 participants on the first-day alone," she said, describing it as a huge success.
The Padang Polo was a hive of activity as visitors flocked to the ground to take part in the fiesta.
They also managed to catch a glimpse of several hot air balloons of various shapes such as a rooster and a heart.
