Emotional farewell for family who perished in fire

BUTTERWORTH: Family and friends of a Subang Jaya couple and their two sons who perished in a fire on Monday, could barely contain their emotions as their remains were brought into the funeral parlour at Mak Mandin here.
Mourners who were clad in black and white had began to gather at the funeral parlour as early as 9am for the funeral ceremony.
The coffins bearing the remains of Lim Ah Kok, 58, his wife Goh Bee Khim, 52, and their sons Lim Yong Liang, 20, and Lim Yong Wei, 17 were brought in at 11am.
Their surviving daughter Lim Yin Jun, 23, who was in tears, was consoled by relatives as the prayer sessions began in accordance with Buddhist funeral rites.
Also present during the funeral ceremony was Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Bagan Jermal assemblyman Lim Hock Seng and Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh.
S. Thanabalan, 27, a neighbour of the Lim family from Subang Jaya, told theSun that he and his family had travelled to Penang to attend the funeral ceremony.
Their remains will be brought to the Bukit Mertajam crematorium later today.
In the 5.30am incident, the family of four were found dead from smoke inhalation after their house at USJ2, was razed in a fire.
The bodies of Lim and his two sons were found face down in a rooms upstairs while the body of his wife was found in the bathroom.
