Najib attends Friday prayers at Lundu mosque

LUNDU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak today attended Friday prayers at the Darul Taqwa Mosque in the Lundu district.
He was accompanied by Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawak State Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and Natural Resources and Environment Minister and Tanjong Datu By-Election Barisan Nasional director of operations Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and several Sarawak ministers also attended prayers at the mosque.
Sarawak State Mosque Grand Imam Ustaz Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi led the prayers and delivered a sermon on the people and nation's wellbeing.
The Darul Taqwa Mosque can accommodate more than 1,000 worshippers at any one time, and serves the people of four nearby villages.
After the prayers, Najib exchanged greetings with the worshippers and flew by helicopter to Kuching. — Bernama
