Sabah Umno Wanita able to make impact on community: Musa Aman

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno Wanita is capable of making an impact on the people when delivering government policies due to their presence and persistence at the grassroot level.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Umno Wanita, especially in Sabah, was well-known for their attitude of hard work and high powered party causes.

"Whatever they do can give an impact to people at the grassroots because they work sincerely for the party and community," said Musa, who is also State Umno Liaison chairman, at the Sabah Wanita Umno's Information and Media Squad launch.

The launch was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi here today.

On the squad, Musa was confident Sabah Umno Wanita was able to provide clear and responsible explanation to fend off slanders and lies against the party especially in the social media.

Meanwhile Umno Wanita chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil reminded members not to be complacent following the recognition given by Umno leadership to Umno Wanita as the party's backbone.

She said Umno Wanita frequently asked that more women become candidates in the coming general election and urged its members to prove that women were deserving of that responsibility.

Shahrizat also reminded Umno Wanita members to maintain integrity in communicating between the government and people besides being firm in dispelling accusations against the party. — Bernama
