SPNB Mesra ready to collaborate with Felda on housing programme

KUALA LUMPUR: SPNB Mesra Sdn Bhd (SPNB Mesra) is ready to collaborate with Felda to develop the Second Generation Housing Programme.

In a statement today, SPNB Mesra chairman Datuk Mohamed Hasnan Che Hussin urged that a joint committee be set up to discuss its business role model, as well as financial and technical issues.

"This intention was recently communicated during a meeting involving Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahril Samad, Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and SPNB chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad," he said.

Mohamed Hasnan expressed SPNB Mesra's readiness to work together in developing the programme through the National Blue Ocean Strategy.

SPNB Mesra, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB), is also currently running the Rumah Mesra Rakyat 1Malaysia (RMR1M) programme.
Previously, the company was also involved in the development of the RMR1M project which was carried out in clusters, at Felda Sayong, Felda Bukit Ramon, Felda Pasir Raja and Felda Bukit Besar in the southeast region of Johor, with 500 houses nearing completion.

To date, SPNB Mesra has completed 37,277 RMR1M units via distribution of subsidies through the federal government, with more than 7,000 units nationwide under construction. — Bernama
