Six soldiers injured as military truck plunges into ravine

KUNAK: Six soldiers were injured after the military truck they were travelling in skidded and plunged into a ravine at Ladang Sabahan at Km34 Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu near here today.
District police chief Supt Mohd Nasaruddin M. Nasir said the truck was carrying nine soldiers including three women in the 1.30pm crash.
"However, the severity of the injuries are still not known. They are now being treated at the Lahad Datu Hospital," he said in a statement.
He said information would be updated from time to time.
Meanwhile, Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre, in a statement said four victims including a male soldier were seriously injured while two others sustained minor injuries.
The department received a distress call at 1.43pm and arrived at the scene, which was 40km away, at 2.24pm. — Bernama
