FOR students and parents looking to continue their tertiary education in the United States, the questions seem endless.
With more than 4,000 higher education institutions in the United States, it can be overwhelming, perplexing and time consuming for international students to find their perfect school.
Therefore, the easiest and most comprehensive way for one to get his or her questions answered in an unbiased, comprehensive setting is to visit an EducationUSA centre located in Kuala Lumpur or Penang hosted by the Malaysian American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE).
EducationUSA is a US Department of State network with over 400 international student advising centres in more than 170 countries. It promotes US higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited post-secondary institutions in the United States.
Every year, EducationUSA brings US university representatives to Southeast Asia to speak with prospective students and parents about studying in the United States. As it believes that students will be better prepared to succeed if they are actively involved in researching, selecting, and applying to the schools of their choice.
At the fairs, prospective students and parents are able to speak with representatives one-on-one. There will also be representatives hosting talks on: scholarships, visa applications, diversity of higher education, community college, STEM in college, what admissions counsellors look for in an application, graduate school, how
to choose a university, and admissions essays.
Attending the fair is the best way to be exposed to a variety of higher education options in the United States. Thus, this year, Malaysia will host two fairs both bigger and better than ever.
Kuala Lumpur will welcome over 50 university representatives on Feb 19 at the Istana Hotel from 2pm until 6pm while Penang will host more than 30 university representatives on Feb 18 from 1pm until 5pm at the Equatorial Hotel.
The EducationUSA fairs are free and open to the public. Join it to have all your questions answered in one place.
