Youth associations, NGOs should assist govt obtain TN50 inputs: Khairy

KUALA LUMPUR: Youth associations and local non-governmental organisations have been urged to assist the government obtain inputs to formulate the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) policy.
Speaking at a TN50 Dialogue with youth associations and NGOs here tonight, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the views of youths were vital to ensure the success of TN50 agenda.
He said the different aspirations and desires of every youth encompassing various aspects should be heard.
"The inclusive involvement of TN50 by the government needs the assistance of youth associations and NGOs to go down to the ground to approach youths in both urban and rural areas.
"Every youth has a view on how to form an ideal country and this is the process we are using now to hear the views of as many youths as possible to formulate TN50," he said.
TN50 which is an inspiration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, is a futuristic policy to shape the direction of the country in the next 30 years after 2020.
Meanwhile, Khairy said among the matters which needed to be given priority in formulating TN50 was the factor of world changing trends which were getting more challenging such as the depleting non-renewal natural resources.
"The matter should be given priority in the formulation of future plans, if we fail to understand the world in future, then our TN50 vision will also be affected," he said. — Bernama
