Move Animation Park Studios to open in Q2

IPOH: The much awaited Move Animation Park Studios (MAPS) in Bandar Meru Raya, the first in Asia, will finally opened its doors in the second quarter of this year.
Perak State Development Corporation (PSDC) chief executive Datuk Aminudduin Md Desa said the project is in the final stages of completion and ready for operation.
"MAPS will undergo a thorough testing and safety trial run to ensure it achieves International Safety Standard," he added.
Aminuddin said those in possession of the Perak Annual Pass can use it within a year of the opening.
MAPS will offer 40 attractions in six themed zones with 15 unique, fun and thrilling rides, 23 interactive attractions, five international shows and entertainment, blended with unique characters like Dreamwork, Smurfs, Boboboi, Stunt Legends and the Adventurers.
Aminudduin said they embarked on the MAPS project with a catalyst for further growth of the tourism industry in Perak and ensure the project will achieve its desired objectives.
PSDC issued the statement after Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir directed the corporation to update the development status of the project.
The studios on a 21 hectare site was built at a cost of RM520 million and expected to draw 1.4 million visitors yearly.
It was supposed to kick-start in October last year but was postponed to a later date.
