Over 30,000 visitors expected at 'Negaraku: 1Malaysia community' programme

KUANTAN: Over 30,000 are expected to attend the four-day 'Negaraku: 1Malaysia Community' programme from Thursday (Feb 23) in Taman Tasik Sultan Abu Bakar in Pekan.
Information director-general Datuk Ibrahim Abdul Rahman said various interesting activities are lined up for the public during the programme organised by the Multimedia and Communications Ministry starting from 8.30am until 10pm.
"Among activities carried out are caring bridge/ 1Malaysia Community exhibition, Kembara Jalinan Kasih, kampung gatherings, cultural performances and others," he said in a statement here today.
He said the programme would be implemented in two phases, with the first phase entailing Kembara Jalinan Kasih on Thursday and Friday and to be carried out in four selected state constituencies in Pekan, namely Pulau Manis, Bebar, Chini and Peramu Jaya.
"Other activities in the first phase are Ziarah Kasih and Titik Sentuhan as well as community services such as gotong royong, kampung gatherings, Asmaul Husna zikir and buskers performances by Pentarama.
He said the phase two would see the holding of the Carnival@Community from Friday to Sunday through four components, namely Leaders meet the people; Minda exhibition and community carnival; cultural performances, spirituality, recreational and entrepreneurship activities.
Ibrahim said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to officially launch the programme on Saturday at the park.
Meanwhile Bernama Corporate Communications manager Zarina Rozali said Bernama would also be involved in the programme by participating in the exhibitions.
Zarina said products under the national news agency would be showcased and shared with the public such as Radio 24 (Bernama Radio), Bernama News Channel (BNC) and Bernama Images while the opening of the Radio 24 mini conti is expected to attract the interest of visitors.
"We will be at the location from Feb 24 until Feb 26. Through the (Bernama) Radio 24 mini conti, visitors will also be given the opportunity to test their talent as radio announcers," she said. — Bernama
