Scan Associates board lifts director’s suspension

22 Feb 2017 / 05:36 H.

PETALING JAYA: Scan Associates Bhd director Yeoh Eng Kong, who was suspended for six months, resumed his role on Feb 17, 2017, a day after a three-member investigative committee found that he was indeed in breach of his duties.
Yeoh’s suspension was for a period of two months initially, but it was extended for four months pending the findings of the investigative committee, which was established in September last year, to conduct an inquiry into a possible serious breach of a director’s duty and the preparation of the company’s subsidiaries audited financial statements.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Scan Associates said the board had agreed to lift his suspension after considering the statement/representation given by Yeoh.
The company added that it would not take further action against Yeoh as his suspension period is deemed adequate and to have served its purpose.
