Motorcyclist killed in collision with car

TAWAU: A motorcyclist was killed, while his pillion rider sustained serious injury, when their machine collided with a four-wheel drive-vehicle (4WD) at the intersection of Taman Joo Hwa, Jalan Bunga Raya here, yesterday.
Tawau district police chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the crash occurred about 7.30pm when a Toyota Vigo, with a 58-year-old man at the wheel, which was coming from Batu Tiga Jalan Apas suddenly turned into the intersection and collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, Mohammad Kaharruddin Darwis, 24, succumbed to his injuries and died at the emergency ward of the Tawau Hospital at 10.05 pm, while the pillion rider, Mazlan Jan), 22, was warded at the hospital for treatment, he said in a statement here today.
Fadil said the driver of the Toyota Vigo was no injured in the crash. — Bernama
