SHE thought she was meeting up with a man who was head over heels in love with her. She ended up raped and murdered instead by the very man who professed to be in love with her.
Kayleigh Haywood, 15 was groomed online for two weeks by the sexual predators.
On October 31, 2015, Kayleigh, was contacted out of the blue on Facebook by Luke Harlow, and the next two weeks Harlow sent flirtatious messages to the teenager convincing her that he loved her.
He managed to convince her to lie to her parents and meet him in his apartment where he persuaded her to consume alcoholic beverages and molested her.
He then invited over his next-door neighbour, landscape gardener Stephen Beadman, who raped and murdered Kayleigh on nearby farmland after she tried to run away.
In July last year Beadman, then 29, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape, false imprisonment and murder of the teenager.
Harlow was given a 12-year jail term for false imprisonment and grooming.
With the support of Kayleigh's parents, Leicestershire Police produced the five-minute long film to warn other parents and children of the dangers of online grooming.
The video shows the teenager being repeatedly messaged by Harlow, going to his home, attempting to flee, and finally being beaten to death by Beadman.
The film about the murder and rape of online grooming was viewed more than a million times within 24 hours of being released online.
