Man arrested for illegal possession of shotgun

ALOR STAR: The Kedah Wildlife and National Parks Department has arrested a man with a shotgun believed to have been used for illegal hunting in the Ulu Muda Forest Reserve.
Its director, Muhammad Ali Che Man, said the 50-year-old man was stopped and arrested yesterday as he was riding a motorcycle.
Nine shotgun pellets were also recovered from him, he said in a statement.
When questioned, the man, who lived near the forest reserve, said he had wanted to hunt animals such as deer, he said.
Muhammad Ali said the man had no permit to carry a gun and the weapon looked like one he had obtained from abroad. — Bernama
