KUALA LUMPUR: The government will continue to give assistance and implement programmes such as the 1Malaysia Peoples' Housing Project (PR1MA), Federal Territories Affordable Homes (RUMAWIP), 'Rumah Idaman Rakyat' and others, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
He said various efforts had been made to enable the people to own homes much lower than the market price.
"I will continue to look for other initiatives so that the people can own comfortable homes," said Najib in his latest posting on his blog today.
He said if the people currently had lands or dilapidated houses, they could apply for the Rumah Mesra Rakyat 1Malaysia (RMR1M) programme to get subsidy from the government.
"In addition, the government has also provided the MyHome Scheme which allows its applicants to receive a subsidy of RM30,000 for home financing.
"For those who need help on down payment, they can apply for financial assistance via the MyDeposit Scheme," said Najib.
The Prime Minister said there were also other aid facilities tailored for the newly married couples or those who had just started working such as the Rumah Transit 1Malaysia (RT1M), People's Housing Project (PPR), the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Public Housing and many more.
"As such, do get these assistance so that we can bring happiness to our beloved families. This is the most important thing that I'm working on for the people," said Najib. — Bernama
