KLANG: Indian youths have been urged to provide their input and aspirations for the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) initiative launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.

MIC youth chief Datuk C. Sivarraajh (pix) said the party had already begun to engage with Indian youths to gauge their aspirations on the initiative with the first dialogue session organised by Yayasan Jaaya 1Malaysia last Friday.

"Generally we realise each and every Indian youth has aspirations about Malaysia which they want to see by 30 years. It is important for the voice of the youth to be heard and the government should pay attention to their views and endeavour to realise their aspirations," he told Bernama.

The TN50 which launched on Jan 19, was envisioned by Najib to map the direction of the nation for the next three decades after 2020.

Commenting on the feedback received from youths on TN50, he said the Middle 40 (M40) educated group emphasised more on a corruption-free government where else the Bottom 40 (B40) household emphasised on the need to have basic infrastructure and human rights.

Meanwhile, national youth chief of Yayasan Jaaya 1Malaysia, Partiben Madurai Veeran, said the foundation's sole objective was to assist youths from all backgrounds in their tertiary education fees for the deserving ones, besides enhancing their employability skills and socioeconomic status.

He said the foundation has 'adopted' 13 deserving students to further their studies in various fields in Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Asia
Technology (AIMST University).

Partiben said the foundation targets at least 4,000 youths comprising SPM and STPM leavers by middle of the year with a membership fee of RM13 per annum.
