MH370’s final report to be ready by this year

KAJANG: The final technical report on missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will be ready by the end of this year.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pix) said that the report is currently being prepared by the ICAO Annex 13 Safety Investigation Team and the report comprises all the investigation details.

"After we suspended the search, we instructed the investigation team to come up with a final technical report for the whole investigation and we hope this report will be ready by this year," Liow told reporters after officiating Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman's Tun Tan Cheng Lock Centre for Social and Policy Studies (TCLC) at its Sungai Long Campus today.

Liow also disclosed that recently, two more pieces of debris have been found, which brings the total number of debris found to 27.
"Malaysia actually has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with those coastal countries along the Indian Ocean where they would assist us in recovering any debris that washes up on their shore.

"And if they find anything they will contact us and we will dispatch our response team to the location to collect it," he explained, adding that more details would be announced later.

On the Tun Tan Cheng Lock Centre for Social and Policy Studies, Liow said he hoped that it would inspire the younger generation to contribute in building a better Malaysia through Tan's vision of uniting a multi-ethnic society to build a greater nation.
