BUTTERWORTH: It was final farewell for a 21-year old mother and her three year old son whose bodies were found ashore at the Teluk Bahang beach last Wednesday.
A sombre funeral atmosphere loomed when the hearse carrying the bodies left their house in Medan Kemuning, Raja Uda, today.
Tan's husband K. Amarish, 21, led the funeral procession after the two caskets carrying his wife and son were carried into the hearse at around 11am today.
Family members, relatives and friends who arrived at 9am looked devastated and sad with the tragedy of Tan Li Gin , who was 11-weeks pregnant and son Eonithin, who were found dead near rocks of the beach on March 1.
A swimmer found the bodies of Tan and Eonithin around 6.30pm.
The two were tied together with a pink raffia string in what seemed like a bid to keep them together in the water.
Amarish, 21, who was in tears when the Taoism prayers were said could not speak to media as he was too distraughted.
The bodies were cremated at the Berapit crematorium in Bukit Mertajam .
Meanwhile, police have ruled out foul play as there was no criminal elements on the bodies based on post-mortem results.
Investigators, meantime, found an RM2 bus ticket from the bodies and would check with the bus company to trace the possible route.
